MANDALAY DIVISION – An official from People’s Defence Force (PDF) Myingyan District Battalion 3 reported that they burned down the junta security gate at Natsaunt Village in Taungtha Township at past 8 a.m. on August 19.
“There was no contact. They (junta forces) abandoned the gate and ran the previous day. We were not sure about that so we raided the gate then cleared it,” said Mr. Phar Gyi, responsible for the military operations in western Taungtha of Taungtha Township People’s Defence Organisation (PDO).
“They left all sentry posts, gates and camps to surround the town from outside. We destroyed their bunkers and tents so that they won’t be able to readily hold camp when they return to those posts,” explained the official of Myingyan District Battalion 3.
It is said that a 20 minute longs skirmish broke out against the patrolling junta forces to the south of Zagyan Village and the defence forces seized ammunition after the junta forces ran away.
PDF force previously attacked the junta security gate at Natsaunt Village on July 9, capturing 14 prisoners of war and confiscating weapons and ammunition.
As part of the Myingyan District Special Operation (MDSO) that began on August 10, military missions are being carried out in Natogyi, Taungtha and Myingyan.
