BAGO DIVISION – An official from People’s Defence Force (PDF) Tharyarwaddy District Battalion 3802 said that they intercepted and attacked the junta forces invading the Bago Yoma ranges in Minhla Township and at least seven junta troops were killed.
On July 15 around 1:30 p.m., around 150 junta forces that climbed the Bago Yoma ranges from the exit of Sarchaung Village, Sanboat Village Tract while firing their weapons were jointly attacked by Battalion 3802 Company 2 and 3, and Tharyarwaddy District Battalion 3803 – Myanmar Defence Force.
The official from Battalion 3802 said that five junta troops died on the spot after getting hit by 40mm and 60mm shells as well as sniper attacks from the revolutionary forces during the exchange of fire while two more reportedly died on the road and at least ten were injured.
“They were coming up from the fields and we fired at them from the top of the hill so we had the advantage. We saw five of them die and two more died while getting carried back to the camp,” said the official.
The attack lasted nearly an hour and it is said that the junta forces, suffering a heavy defeat, invaded Sarchaung Village, broke into the houses and robbed valuables then retreated after setting fire to 30 houses.
‌Battalion 3802 informed that they seized a flag belonging to junta light infantry 534, .79 bullet shells and a pair of military boots when they swept the area after the junta forces retreated.
After that, the junta council carried out drone and heavy artillery attacks towards the presumed camps of the revolutionary forces but it is said that the revolutionary forces are unharmed.
Currently, junta forces have raided and are stationed at the monastery in Ngahlasan Village. They have also abducted a married couple, Mr. Myo Gyi and his wife from Sanboat Village, and still haven’t released the two yet, informed the official from Battalion 3802.
PDF battalions have advised the people to avoid staying near the junta battalions and bases as battles can break out at any time between the junta council and revolutionary forces.
