SHAN STATE (NORTH) – A news source from the Prisons Department gave a confirmation that political prisoners and other prisoners have been released from Lashio Prison.
After the junta council’s battalion 68 was seized by revolutionary forces led by Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA), the political prisoners and other inmates from Lashio Prison have been released on the morning of July 28.
“Since this morning (July 28), the prisoners have been released. Both political prisoners and ordinary prisoners have been released,” said the prison news source.
The details of the release of the political prisoners are still in investigation.
