MYANMAR – Political Prisoners Network Myanmar (PPNM) will reportedly release a song called “Holding Hands Behind the Bars” on July 23 to commemorate the second anniversary of Mr. Jimmy, Mr. Phyo Zayar Thaw, Mr. Hla Myo Aung and Mr. Aung Thu Zaw who were unjustly sentenced to death by the junta council.
July 23, 2024 will be the second anniversary of the unjust execution of Mr. Jimmy, Mr. Phyo Zayar Thaw, Mr. Hla Myo Aung, and Mr. Aung Thu Zaw after the military council usurped the power from the people.
In addition, the song “Holding Hands Behind the Bars” is said to be written about the lives of political prisoners in the junta council’s prisons, their desires and feelings, and is sung by a former female prisoner.
Furthermore, PPNM said that they hope to reach the civilians’ hearts on behalf of political prisoners currently in the junta council’s prisons by preparing a song representing the political prisoners.
