BAGO DIVISION – Pyu Saw Htee leader Aye Kyaw led team abducted over 30 young men in Moenyo Township and the young men who tried to run were handcuffed and beaten up by junta soldiers, according to local residents.
Around 5:45 p.m. on December 18, Aye Kyaw and junta soldiers from Waizantayar Monastery in Shweudaung Ward went to abduct three young men from Myoma Ward in Moenyo.
The young men tried to run away and one of them managed to escape but the other two, Mr. Zaw Min Tun and Mr. Zin, were taken away by junta forces and were handcuffed and assaulted.
When Mr. Zaw Min Tun had a seizure during the assault, he was released but Mr. Zin was abducted to be conscripted.
Due to similar actions by Aye Kyaw, it is said that over 30 young men in the town have been abducted.
“Pyu Saw Htee leader Aye Kyaw and junta dogs (junta forces) are rampaging in Moenyo Town. On the 18th, they abducted three young men and beat them up when they tried to run away. One managed to escape but the other two were horribly assaulted. They were assaulted while handcuffed. At least 30 young men from the town were abducted,” said a resident.
