TANINTHARYI DIVISION – An official from Kyunsu Township People’s Defence Force (PDF) reported that they attacked the Pyu Saw Htee thugs accompanying the junta forces in conducting census at Paetai Village, Kyunsu Township.
On October 14 around 9 p.m., resistance forces attacked the camp of the Pyu Saw Htee thugs in Paetai Village with 40mm mortars and light weapons as they cooperated with the junta council in conducting census.
During the attack, the Pyu Saw Htee forces also fired back with heavy weapons and the junta navy ship patrolling at the mouth of the Samon River also fired its cannons and entered the village.
Members of the People’s Defence Force were able to return unharmed from the attack and it is being investigated if there were any casualties among Pyu Saw Htee thugs.
“We cannot confirm if there were any casualties among junta dogs (junta forces). We are still trying to confirm it as it was during the night,” said an official from Kyunsu Township PDF.
