SAGAING DIVISION – Local residents said that military council troops in Shwebo Township are firing heavy weapons randomly and forcing people to flee at night.
Since the second week of November, terrorist council troops have been stationed in Minkone Monastery of Shwebo Town. The terrorist junta thugs stationed at Shwebo Town Traditional Hospital and Minkone Monastery have been firing heavy artillery towards villages at the west of Shwebo Town at night, forcing people to flee at night.
“More junta troops were stationed at Minkone Monastery and Traditional Medicine Hospital. It has been 5 days now. At night, they started to shell the villages west of Shwebo. In addition, the fascist army threatened the people of Thaye Kone ward, west of the Traditional Hospital to give food packets. At night, the army came to Mu River and fired heavy weapons, causing people from Obo, Kin Bya, and Chi Pa villages to hide in nearby villages and return to their villages the next day. They have been fleeing at night and returning to their villages in the morning for 4 days now,” said a resident.
Residents said that the junta army has been deploying its troops in new locations to transport food to military camps and Pyu Saw Htee villages in Shwebo township.
Similarly, the terrorist army has also advanced into Thahtaykone village in Madaya Township, Mandalay Region, forcing many people to flee, residents reported.
Since 8 a.m. on November 22, the terrorist army has advanced into Thahtaykone village from Mwayudein village with an estimated force of about 700 soldiers.
“As far as we know, there has been no fighting. We, the locals had to flee from all our villages. We can’t avoid running away. The junta soldiers have been capturing and killing everyone they saw. It is better to run away,” said a resident.
The terrorist army is conducting an offensive not only with ground forces but also with aerial bombardment to regain control of Madaya Township.
The terrorist army is entering Madaya Township in multiple columns, according to the Mandalay People’s Defence Force.
“About 100 junta thugs and Pyithusit militias from Kyong village south of Madaya Town are advancing to Soutchongpauk Village through Shwe Chaung Pyu Saw Htee Village. At the same time, the junta troops stationed at Tin Nge Toe Village are providing artillery support. The military situation is still tense,” said a comrade of Mandalay People’s Defence Force.
