SAGAING DIVISION – A leader of Butalin People’s Defence Force told the media that revolutionary forces attacked Kutaw Police Station last Saturday (July 13).
On July 13, at around 4:00 p.m., the attack on Kutaw Police Station was made and although some junta soldiers were injured, the casualties have not yet been confirmed.
“Our side bombarded the area initially using drones. In addition, we fired RPG and 40 mm launchers. The junta side also returned fire with MA1, machine guns, G3 and 40mm mortars. The damage and casualties on the junta side is unknown but resistance forces were able to retreat unharmed,” said the leader of Butalin People’s Defence Force.
The attack on the Kutaw police station was done by the BGA (Butalin Guerrilla Alliance) Daungman Force, Cross-Border Force, Battalion 26, 19, and 21.
According to residents, the terrorist army opened fire on the villages surrounding Kutaw Village with heavy weapons after the attack.
“What we want from them is to only fight against the armed forces. Firing heavy weapons towards the villages should not be done. Now, whenever there is a battle, they start shooting large weapons towards the villages nearby. Yesterday, after the attack, junta troops fired large weapons at the villages but luckily the villagers were not harmed,” said a resident of Ywarmon Village near Kutaw Village.
In addition, a drone landed on a clinic in Tanong Gone Village on July 10, killing a doctor, a one-year-old baby, and four members of the People’s Defence Forces.
