SAGAING DIVISION – Joint revolutionary forces launched a coordinated attack on the junta bases in Salingyi, according to Chindwin Dynamite (Salingyi) People’s Defence Force (PDF).
Revolutionary forces attacked the Salingyi Police Station, junta checkpoint in the hospital, Minkangyi Monastery and the general administration office stationed by junta forces on July 19 between 8 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., using drones and heavy and light weapons.
“We destroyed two junta bunkers at the hospital and the monastery. We saw the junta forces run away. We didn’t have enough ammunition to capture (the junta bases) so we withdrew at night,” said Democracy Thayelay, the representative of Chindwin Dynamite (Salingyi) PDF.
It is said that two junta forces stationed at the monastery died in the attack while one revolutionary comrade fell and two were injured. The junta forces stationed at the hospital reportedly abandoned their posts and ran away.
The attack was a joint operation by Chindwin Dynamite (Salingyi) PDF, Yinmabin District Battalion 35 Company 3, Taungpanni Special Guerrilla Force (Salingyi), 5/Fighter (Monywa), Fighter Nine Force (Salingyi), SPDF (Salingyi), Myatlone Column, Burma Liberation Democratic Front (BLDF) Military Region 1, Taymintamharn Team, Myosetthit Lunge Team, Anti-Dictator Revolution Force, SRA Aung Gyi Team, Phoenix Team, Daungtamharn Team, Naung Gyi PDF, CDF, Bo Yakha, Under Ground Team, Arlawaka Team, People’s Security Force, Thanmani Mwaypway Team, Monywa District Battalion 27, Black Dragon Drone Team, Brave Heart Army (BHA) and Chindwin Fighter Group (CFG).
