YANGON DIVISION – Yangon-based revolutionary forces urged the people of Yangon to help the people who had to flee from conflict zones with the spirit of “We only have each other”.
“We’d like to urge the people of Yangon to help and take care of the displaced people who had fled to Yangon,” said the revolutionary forces.
The junta council, after suffering losses on the battlefield, has been continuously targeting civilians via airstrikes and bombings and as a result, civilians from those regions had to flee to cities such as Yangon and Mandalay that are not struck as heavily by battles.
Revolutionary forces were urged to warmly treat those displaced people by reducing rent, objecting to exorbitant rent, helping with living costs when possible, avoiding actions that could disturb the displaced people physically or mentally, objecting to those who commit such actions, and reporting the ward and township administration teams that oppress the displaced people.
There have also been several posts on social media by Yangon people welcoming displaced people to contact them if they run into problems with living issues.
In addition, some employers have also announced that they will employ displaced people.
The junta council has lost control of over 70 townships across the country and frequently targets those townships with airstrikes.
