MANDALAY DIVISION – Pwaekhinywama Pyu Saw Htee (junta subordinate militia) camp in Kyaukpadaung Township was attacked, killing six junta and Pyu Saw Htee forces and three weapons and ammunition were seized, according to Mr. Paing, the representative of Chauk Guerrilla Force (CGF).
Around 2 p.m. on August 12, revolutionary forces stormed the Pyu Saw Htee camp after receiving news that the junta and Pyu Saw Htee forces were gathered there and torturing a civilian. An hour long battle ensued and three junta soldiers and three Pyu Saw Htee thugs, a total of six, were killed.
“We went to attack around 2 p.m. The exchange of fire lasted around an hour. There were no reinforcements. Two from the allied (revolutionary) forces were injured but it’s not serious. We don’t have updates on the civilians who was abducted and tortured yet,” said Mr. Paing, the CGF representative.
It is said that two Carbine rifles, a one round shotgun, 98 Carbine bullets, three Carbine cartridges, three hand grenades, three equipment, one pair of military boots and two sets of military uniforms belonging to the junta and Pyu Saw Htee forces were seized.
The attack was carried out by Magway District People’s Defence Organisation (PDO) Special Attack Force, Chauk Township PDO, CGF, Arlawaka Urban Guerrilla Force, Chauk Revolution Army, Oak Awe (UG), Bagan Bo Cho, Burma Ranger Revolution, YRF Battalion 12, Minthargyi Team, Yenathar Youth Force and Kyaukpadaung Special Defence Force.
