MON STATE – It was reported that an encounter broke out between the Revolutionary Forces and the terrorist junta forces in Myo Haung Village of Ye Township, killing six junta soldiers and the revolutionary forces also lost a comrade, according to the New Mon State Party – Anti Dictatorship (NMSP – AD) on August 9.
It was said that around 200 junta forces of Infantry Battalion – 106 and Light Infantry Battalion – 588 stationed at Ka Mawt Ka Nin Village invaded Myo Haung Village at around 3:00 p.m., on August 8, and the fight started.
During the battle that lasted for more than six hours, six junta soldiers were killed, and many were injured.
It was reported that one Revolutionary Comrade sacrificed his life during the fight that was jointly carried out by NMSP – AD and Ye People’s Defence Force (YPDF).
“Yesterday (August 8), there was an all-night battle. But the junta forces retreated from Myo Haung Village on the morning of August 9. I also heard that they were arriving at Be La Mu Village,” said a local military source.
Since July, the junta army has been reinforcing its forces and conducting offensive attacks to regain control of the Thanbyuzayat – Ye – Dawei Road.
The Rehmonnya Institute has released that at least 3,000 locals had to flee their homes in Mon State due to the junta council’s incursion and artillery attacks.
