MYANMAR – The Shan Nationalities League for Democracy (SNLD) published its political stance on October 26, its 36th anniversary.
In the statement, the party mentioned that the record long civil war in Myanmar is only ongoing due to the low handed political trickery of the various generations of dictators that don’t accept national equality and right for self-determination.
“Only after completely eradicating the dictatorship and its pillars can we start to resolve the political issues politically and together build a Federal Union that matches the time,” stated SNLD.
The party pointed out that the country, meant to form a united union as per the 1947 Pinlon Agreement has even begun to deplete the political goodwill to coexist among the citizens as the civil war continues to persist.
“The people of Shan State as well as the people of the whole country have to rebuild the country based on the principle of peaceful coexistence,” said SNLD.
It continued that as the opportunity arises to take action on the one-sided political, economical, social and racial oppressions, it is important to refrain from extreme racist acts, that it is extremely important to not lose sight of the original goal and that the people on the side of democracy needs to unite and pass the unilateral attempts by some super power nations to control and influence the internal affairs of the country, with the spirit of the union.
In addition, the party vows on the emergence of future federal democracy and to match side by side along with democracy allies.
