ARAKAN STATE- According to a military source in Arakan, military council soldiers from the Infantry Battalion (IB) 346 and 544 battalions based in Taungok town have surrendered to the Arakan Army (AA) by hoisting a white flag.
Many soldiers from IB-346 and IB-544 under Taungok-based No. 5 Operations Headquarters surrendered to the AA, raising white flags. Currently, Taungok Town is controlled by AA.
“In No. 5 Operations Headquarters, the battle continues. Soldiers from the IB-346 and IB-544 surrendered and raised the white flag. Some continue to fight without surrendering. The fighting is still going on,” the Rakhine military source said.
A source close to the AA military office was asked about the news of the junta soldiers from the two battalions at Taungok surrendered to AA, he replied that there are some reports that some soldiers surrendered after raising the white flag but no reports from the AA on ground forces have confirmed.
