SHAN STATE – On August 14th) morning in Tachileik, Maesai Creek is overflowing after heavy rain, causing flooding in the city’s neighborhoods.
There is flooding in the areas around Mae Sai River such as the Maka Hokham Ward, the Flower Ground and the Red Cross Office.
Mae Sai River water has the nature of falling fast, but it is still raining and the water has not fallen into normal level. Some residents said that they are very difficult to live in.
The Mae Sai River is overflowing. The other side of Tachilek City is also flooded on the Thai side.
The monsoon is strong and most of the regions, including eastern Shan State, are likely to have heavy rain. The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management (MOHADM) has warned.
In addition, on August 17th and 18th, monsoon winds may become stronger.
