SHAN STATE- The Southern Shan Local Revolution Union (S.S.L.R.U), an armed revolution unit for the emergence of a true federal union and eradicating the military dictatorship, started recruiting combat soldiers on July 31, 2024.
According to the recruitment notice, those who meet the basic requirements and want to participate in the armed struggle will be screened and recruited.
The basic requirements are to be 18 years of age, in good health, able to endure hardship, and mentally strong. In addition, the recruit must serve until the end of the armed revolution and must be able to follow the policies and rules of the PDF force.
The Central Committee member of SSLRU, Mr. Sai Panfa, said that the union has been fighting in the armed revolution against the military council for 2 years in cooperation with the allied revolutionary forces in the Karenni region.
“We have to fight and win the affairs of our country and our state. So, we want to welcome recruits to serve and take responsibility for our affairs without relying on anyone,” he said.
This recruitment is the first time, and had been previously given basic military training only.
