UNITED STATES OF AMERICA – Stanford University has recognized the Interim University Council of the National Unity Government (NUG).
It is said that the education verification issued by the NUG Interim University Council was accepted when applying for employment at Stanford University.
“I was offered a job at Stanford University with the education verification issued by the NUG Interim University Council. My sister did as well. There could also be more who are studying or working with the certificates from the NUG IUC,” said Ms. Hlaing Moh Moh Tun, who added that she is proud of and thankful to the NUG.
“Now, I’ve been working at Stanford University for more than a year. At the time of the offer, I was proud of our government, the NUG, and the IUC-UMM,” she continued.
It is said that after interviewing for the position at Stanford University, during the background check the university contacted the junta council’s University of Medicine but did not receive a response. At the time, she explained the existence of the IUC and how Professor Khin Maung Lwin who signed the degree and was the chair of the IUC, passed the contact information to the professor and was offered the job after the university verified with the Interim University Council.
It is also reported that there are students studying medicine at Thailand’s Chulalongkorn University after applying with the certificates issued by the NUG Ministry of Education.
