MYANMAR – The “Stop Blocking the Lives” photo campaign, asking the prison authorities to provide the inmates with sufficient healthcare, to store enough medicine in prisons and to allow emergency medical treatment, was launched on December 1 by the Myanmar Political Prisoners Network and allied organisations with the cooperation of the public.
The aim of the campaign is to prevent political prisoners losing their lives due to not receiving timely treatment in prisons; to ensure that the prison hospital stop being killing grounds due to insufficient medicine; to raise awareness that the human lives are not respected in prisons; and to put a stop to maternity mortality and infant mortality among the prisoners of conscience due to emergency patients not receiving timely treatment in outside hospitals.
