SHAN STATE – It was reported that the atrocious junta army was dropping more than hundreds of bombs on Hsipaw Town, causing fierce fighting. And the junta bombarded again on Namhsan Town, a controlled area of Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA).
The junta’s Y12 fighter jet dropped 113 bombs on Hsipaw Town in 16 airstrike attacks, on August 15. Namhsan Town was also bombed three times with fighter jets.
On August 15, the Junta’s Y12 fighter jet bombarded around Hsipaw Town, and the bombs landed and exploded at the compound of Shwe Kyaung (monastery), injuring a boy. A man was also injured when the bombs landed and exploded near the toll gate. It is reported that Ton Hsint was bombed with a jet fighter and bombed again with Y12.
It was said that a man was injured by light weapon due to the ground fight.
It was reported that there were no aerial bombings by junta’s fighter jets due to heavy rain in Hsipaw Town, since 3:30 p.m., and the ground fighting was intensifying.
TNLA and the allied People’s Defence Forces (PDFs) have combated Hsipaw Town, since August 10, and they were in position to completely control the town. But they were under intense attacks on the Infantry Battalion – 23 and Light Infantry Battalion – 503, 504, the town-based junta’s battalions.
During one week of fighting in Hsipaw Town, 12 people were killed and 18 others were injured. In Namhsan Town, a resident was killed, and one was injured by junta’s aerial bombings.
