MAGWAY DIVISION: Thayet district No.(4) Battalion announced on October 22 that the atrocious military junta column performing security duty of the people who are collecting census data had been attacked with mines in Mindon townships, Magway division.
It was reported that the on-foot military column with (25) members of the atrocious junta’s council who are performing the security service to the people collecting census data for illegal election by the atrocious junta’s council had been attacked with mines on October 21.
Thayet district No.(4) battalion, No.(1) military region, the People’s Defence Force was known to have waited and pulled the trigger of mines when the members of junta’s council arrived near Thahpankone village on Thayet- Mindon road in Mindon township at 5:15 p.m., which caused the deaths of (8) members of the junta’s council.
Moreover, the other members of the junta’s council also got wounded. The dead bodies and the wounded soldiers were seen to be carried to Thayet Defence Industry (12) while the members of the revolutionary forces could successfully retreat without having any casualties.
