SAGAING DIVISION – Friends of Ko Wai Lin Aung said that Ko Wai Lin Aung, a resident of Hsatekun village, Shwebo township was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Military Court in Shwe Bo Prison.
On July 13th, Ko Wai Lin Aung, who was arrested in Shwe Bo Prison, was charged under Section 50 (j) and 52 (a) of the Anti-Terrorism Law and was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Shwe Bo Prison Court.
On May 10th, Ko Wai Lin Aung was arrested at Kopin Gate on the Shwebo-Myitkyina road, by the soldiers of the terrorist junta council during a visit from Myitkyina to his native Hsatekun village, because they found photos related to politics on his phone.
It is reported that Ko Wai Lin Aung was arrested from Kopin Gate at the exit of Shwebo and taken to Shwebo Police Station then sent to Shwebo prsion about 7 days later.
“As far as we know, Ko Wai Lin Aung is not doing any political matters. He has been running a weaving business near Myitkyina for a long time. He has been coming back to the village for a while. He was arrested on May 10 at Kopin Gate, Shwebo Myitkyina Road, exit from the village, and the order was issued on the 13th of this month,” said his friend.
