YANGON DIVISION – The words and actions of a junta military investigation troop that came to confiscate a sound box playing protest slogans at the pedestrian overpass in Ngamoeyeik Sanpya Market, Thingangyun Township, were reportedly recorded.
Thingangyun and Sanpya Workers’ People’s Strike Steering Committee placed the sound box to protest against the junta council and was able to record the junta military intelligence that came to confiscate the sound box.
Recorded protest slogans such as “one viss of cooking oil will be sold at 10,000 Kyats only when Min Aung Hlaing dies” , “6500 Kyats for one Pyi of rice, break Soe Win’s head” and “we don’t want the conscription law” were played from the sound box and just as the sounds gained attention from the people, a military intelligence troop in civilian disguise near the overpass came and seized the sound box.
The junta member confiscating the sound box, reporting to his officer and threatening, scolding and cursing the nearby civilians were also recorded by the strike team.
The strike committee successfully managed to hold the anti-junta movement despite tight security by the junta council.
