SHAN STATE – The junta’s North Eastern Command in Lashio City of Shan (North) State, no longer exists on its 52nd anniversary due to the attack and capture of Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA).
Today, July 27, is also the 52nd anniversary of the North Eastern Command (NEC).
Zaw Min Tun, the spokesman of the junta regime, said that the North Eastern Command is a military command with a great history. NEC defeated the foreign Kuomintang invasion and repeatedly defeated the Communist Party of Burma (CPB)’s invasion. He also said that NEC is the Regional Military Commands that tried to free from the oppression of the war king and the opium king.
However, the frontline headquarters of the MNDAA army announced that they completely captured the junta proud of North Eastern Command, at 4:00 a.m., on July 25, and that Lashio had been completely liberated. The MNDAA declared that the Lashio liberation revolution was a historic victory.
