SAGAING DIVISION- It was reported the Military Council launched aerial support when the People’s Defense Forces attacked their vessels sailing from Alone Minhtaunk Harbor in Monywa to Kani Township.
Seventeen military vessels, including some warships, sailed along the Chindwin River yesterday morning (August 1) and were intercepted by the People’s Defense Forces.
“Resistance Forces attacked from both sides of Kani and Butalin towns. They had to call for aerial reinforcements from Namakha (Northwest Regional Military Command). Junta helicopters arbitrarily opened fire,” said a public defense soldier from Kani Township.
Military council vessels were fired by joint public defense forces with rockets, RPGs, and snipers, and the military council troops from Infantry Batallion (204) under Division (22) and Military Supply Unit (929) and Kyauklonkyi PDF reports on board might have been killed, as reported by Kyauklonegyi PDF.
It was reported that a defense force member was injured by the military council’s air strike. The detailed situation is not yet known.
It is reported that the Junta vessels passed Kanni Township and reached Minking Township.
