MANDALAY DIVISION: Ministry of Women, Youth, and Children Affairs, the National Unity Government of Myanmar was known to have met the families of the prisoners of conscience who have were detained during the revolution in Mogkok, Pyin Oo Lwin district, Mandalay Division, and supported them.
The people responsible for Pyin Oo Lwin district PDO (People’s Defense Organization) and Mogkok Township PDO reportedly met with the family members of the prisoners of conscience and encouraged them.
“My husband was detained during the “Spring Revolution,” who had been prosecuted with several political legal sections and charged with 18 years imprisonment. We then lost contact and heard he had been moved to other prisons,” said the wife of an unfairly detained political prisoner by the atrocious junta’s regime.
It was known that the families of the political prisoners have been currently losing contact with imprisoned detainees, and it is difficult to send parcels for the detainees.
“When we send parcels to the detainees, they are not normally received by the intended recipient. It was known that the authorities had taken the food we sent. Formerly, he wrote to us once a month, but now we don’t receive any mail and we can’t send anything,” said a family member of a political prisoner.
In Mogkok, there were about 50 civilians who were detained as political prisoners by the atrocious junta’s council during the “Spring Revolution,” and they were known to be caught in Mandalay O-Bo prison.
