MYANMAR – The pope prayed for the war affected countries during the Sunday prayers on November 24, especially praying for the troubles suffered by the people of Myanmar.
The pope stated that peace is urgently needed in Myanmar and invited the people affected by the conflicts to join the prayer.
November 25 is the anniversary of the 1920 student uprising and also the anniversary of Myanmar’s path to freedom.
“Myanmar is struggling hard to achieve peaceful democracy. I want to tell the people of Myanmar that I understand and am empathetic of them, especially the children, elders, patients, and refugees, including the Rohingya people,” said the pope.
The pope also urged the people to pray for peace in Ukraine, Palestine, Israel, Lebanon,, and Sudan. On November 3, the pope also included Myanmar in his prayers.
