KARENI STATE- Local sources said that the soldier shot at the military council battalion commander who had slapped him at the Shan-Kareni border, Loilin Lay town, Htisekha Gate.
On May 4, the source said that a soldier shot and killed the commander of the Light Infantry Battalion (530), based in Loi Lin Lay.
“The battalion commander slapped the soldier for drinking alcohol. The soldier shot the commander and shot himself also. They 2 died. At first we heard one of the biggest in the army had been shot. Later we knew that he was the battalion commander who was shot,” said the source.
He said that the soldier shot the battalion commander in the back with the gun because he was not satisfied with slapping and kicking.
“That gate is a gate that asks for 5,000 to 10,000 for a car. It is a good income gate. It happened right there. Dissatisfied with each other and shot and both of them died. It’s how karma works for extortion money,” commented a resident.
KnIC, the information page of the Karenni National Progressive Party, stated that case happened this week, and the details are still being investigated.
It is reported that the 2 dead bodies were taken to the military hospital in Loikaw town by the military council troops.
Loi Lin Lay town is located near the Shan-Karini border, and the Hti Sekha gate is located on the south side of the bridge, and the north side of the bridge, which is part of Shan State, is being demanded by the PNO(Pao National Organization) militia under the Military Council
