KACHIN STATE – Local residents said that there is a military tension between the junta council and KIA coalition forces in Phakan, shops are closed, and people have started moving.
Since the beginning of September, there have been continuous battles between the junta council forces and KIA coalition forces in Phakan township. Now, the military has become tense in the city. The junta council started firing and attacking with heavy weapons, and there were casualties among the people. As a result, the people of Phakan started to flee, and the shops were closed.
“Today, the KIA/KPDF surrounded the town. Phakant town has reached a state of alert. The residents are leaving the town as soon as possible. Many of them are still there. Those who are staying are worried, and those who are leaving are worried. It can see the worries on their faces. Shops are also closed,” said a resident.
Similarly, the KIA KPDF coalition forces also went to Phakan Army Hill and attacked them with heavy weapons. It is reported that the entrances and exits of Phakan have been blocked by the revolutionary forces.
“Junta troops also in the Lucky Man Hotel and don’t dare to go out. They are all locked up and hiding. Now the KIA and PDF are all around,” said a KIA source.
