MYANMAR – The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology announced that due to the low pressure in the Bay of Bengal, heavy rains and thunderstorms may occur in all parts of Myanmar.
According to measurements at 3:30 a.m. Myanmar standard time on October 4, the northern Bay of Bengal and its associated coast of Bangladesh and India, the low pressure area in West Bengal continues to exist. It is cloudy in the northeast of the Bay of Bengal. It is reported that there is a slight to moderate monsoonal force in the Andaman Sea and the rest of the Bay of Bengal.
Therefore, rain falls in Shan State (Northern) and Kayah State are sparsely. Scattered thunderstorms in Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay Division, and Magway division, Bago Division and Shan State (Eastern). There will be widespread raining in the rest of the Division and State. Upper part of the Sagaing Region, Kachin State, Chin State and Rakhine State may experience heavy rain in some places. The Metrological department announced that the probability of rain is 100 percent.
In addition, cumuli are developing in the Mandalay division, Ayeyarwady division, Tanintharyi division, Kachin State, Shan State (Northern) and Rakhine State. Along the area where the cumuli move there are possibilities of strong winds and it will be accompanied by the rain, lightning, thundering, hailstorm and the sea waves will be 6 to 8 feet in Myanmar waters.
