SAGAING DIVISION – Out of more than 100 people who have been displaced from Tabayin Township for nearly four months, three died due to insufficient medicine, reported Mr. Htoo Khant Zaw (Amaethar), the information officer of Ye U based People’s Defence Comrade.
The displaced people had fled from the battles in Tabayin to Ye U Township and are still displaced after nearly four months. It is said that children and elders over 80 years old are also among them.
As the displaced people are unable to receive healthcare and there is also insufficient medicine, three displaced people with underlying diseases passed away. Moreover, as they have been displaced for months, they are said to be urgently in need of medicine, food and blankets.
“The people who fled from Tabayin in August are still in Ye U. They don’t have friends or relatives and so are still displaced in Ye U. There are elders in their 80s as well as children. Food, medicine and blankets are urgently needed for the elders and the children. Three men in their 50s and 60s had died from worsening health while being displaced in Ye U like this,” said Mr. Htoo Khant Zaw (Amaethar).
