SHAN STATE – After the junta council launched an offensive into eastern Hsihseng Township in Pa’O Region, southern Shan State, a battle broke out against the Pa’O National Liberation Organisation (PNLO) and alliance forces on August 11. As a result, three junta forces were captured dead, one was captured alive and one MA1 rifle and a drone were confiscated.
PNLO informed that the captured junta POW attended the Pyithusit militia training in Shwebo and was immediately sent to the frontline in Hsihseng.
“They pretty much sent him to his death. You have to be smart if you don’t want to die after being sent to die by power-crazed Min Aung Hlaing. Whether you were forcibly conscripted or abducted, if you were sent to the frontline, I’d advise you to contact the revolutionary forces and to switch sides. Abandon the wrong and switch to the side of the right if you value your life and family,” said PNLO spokesperson Khun Yein Yan.
The resurging battles that started after the junta forces set a base at Lwelhtwel Village and attacked the PNLO headquarters on August 3 have so far resulted in over 20 deaths on the junta side with at least five captured and around 20 firearms and two drones confiscated. Meanwhile, three from the revolutionary forces were injured including one who was hit in both legs in a drone attack.
