SAGAING DIVISION- Battles in Tigyaing resumed on November 30, and the military group is using air strikes to prevent the city from being taken over and instead bombarding residential areas of the city for three successive days.
“Today, two airplanes are continuously dropping bombs. Two of the bombs fell into the town, and three others were dropped at Shwegu Mountain. The damage is not yet known,” said one of the members of the revolutionary force.AA, KIA, ABSDF, and PDF Alliance revolutionary forces launched an attack on November 8 to take over Tigyaing Town, but the battles cooled down towards the end of November. Now in early December, battles are re-emerging again, according to the locals.
It is said that the revolutionary forces are relaunching attacks to capture the entire town of Tigyaing, and only the military group remains in a camp on the hill of Tigyaing. During the battle to take over the town, which had been going on for almost a month, the military group suffered many casualties, and three revolutionary soldiers were fallen.
The town of Tigyaing is made up of five wards, and about 80 percent of the town has been burned to ashes by military bombing and torching. It is estimated that hundreds of residents who could not escape might have been killed.Bodies were unable to be picked up/retrieved yet due to military threats. The exact number of causalities cannot be confirmed as no one has yet entered the city.
Tens of thousands of residents of the town have been fleeing since the start of the battle and are still avoiding the war at present.
