MAGWAY DIVISION – The Yesagyo Township People’s Administration Body (PAB) of the National Unity Government led the formation of an emergency response team to rescue the people affected by the flood.
Both the Ayeyarwaddy River and the Chindwin River flow through Yesagyo Township and the rising water level of both rivers have flooded around one third of the township which comprises of 130 villages.
All planted crops were lost to the flood and around 27,000 households, an estimated 100,000 people, are reported to be affected by the flood. Moreover, as the flood has been going on for some days, the residents and the domestic stock are facing difficulties when it comes to food and living in general.
The people of the township are suffering from the flood on top of the arson and torture of the terrorist junta forces.
As such, people are requested to support them via the Township PAB, People’s Defence Force, People’s Security Organisation and Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Management Team.
