MON STATE- An official of the Myanmar Railways told the media that a train carrying Junta officers from Mawlamyine to Yangon was attacked by a mine last Wednesday (July 17) and the tracks were damaged.
At around noon on July 17, train No. 82 leaving Mawlamyine to Yangon, carrying terrorist junta officers, was attacked by a mine between milepost No. 124 (12/13) between Thein Seik and Dom Wun stations.
The team from the Mawlamyine Department of Industry and railroad repair teams from Thathon station are repairing the road section, and the terrorist army has deployed a lot of security.
“The crane didn’t come out. Only the staff from Division 8 Mawlamyine repair team from the Department of Industry, and those from Thathon station arrived in cars. They reportedly would work together to repair the railway. The train carried high-rank officers and high-level security has been deployed. It’s the train No. 82 leaving from Mawlamyine,” said an official from Myanmar Railways.
Moreover, it was reported that Yangon-Mawlamyine train service has also been temporarily suspended while the railway section is being repaired.
