MAGWAY DIVISION – There were two bomb blasts at the house of Tha Dwe Aung, the junta administration officer for the East Ward in Pwintphyu Township and four, including a surveillance officer, were heavily wounded, according to local residents.
The first blast happened at 12:56 p.m. on October 20 and the junta police station chief and surveillance officers from Pwintphyu Police Station and the administration officer arrived at the scene.
They were then caught in the second blast that went off at 1:09 p.m. and four including the police station chief and a surveillance officer were injured.
“There were two bomb blasts at the house of eastern Pwintphyu administration officer Tha Dwe Aung. Following the first blast, the second blast went off after the arrival of police station chief and surveillance officer Tun Naing Win and the administration officer. A total of four including the surveillance officer, the son of the administration officer and a person there to get the guarantee letter were seriously injured. Tha Dwe Aung and his wife were not hurt,” said a resident.
Administration officer Tha Dwe Aung is someone who has been enthusiastically implementing the junta council’s conscription orders and have been forcibly conscripting the young people in the area. It is said that junta soldiers and police carried out patrols and inspections after the blasts.
