KAREN STATE – A car belonging to the Karen Border Guard Force (BGF) crashed into a motorcycle in front of Yadanar Restaurant on the Asia Highway in Myawaddy and the woman and child on board the motorcycle died on the spot, reported the Myawaddy residents.
The crash took place around 10:40 a.m. on October 26 and it is said that the BGF car fled the scene.
“Two were killed on the spot. The child was around 13 and the girl was in her early twenties. They were siblings.
The car that committed the hit-and-run is said to belong to the BGF. The bodies were sent to the morgue at Myawaddy Hospital in an ambulance of the Myawaddy social rescue team,” said a resident.
Residents said that police came and investigated the crash. BGF officials were contacted to ask about the crash but were out of reach.
