SAGAING DIVISION – The terrorist junta council raided the villages at the border of Tabayin and Ye U Townships in two columns and have abducted four civilians and torched the houses, forcing thousands of civilians to flee, reported Mr. Htoo Khant Zaw (Amaethar), the information officer of Ye U based People’s Defence Comrade.
On August 24, the terrorist junta column that came out of the Traditional Hospital in Ye U raided Motesi Village and abducted at least four civilians staying at the monastery in the village. The raid forced the residents of Motesi Village, Nyoteton Village, Pyitaw Village, Musone Village, and Ywameitta Village to flee.
That column reportedly arrived to deliver rations and retrieve the injured soldiers from Tabayin.
Similarly, the terrorist junta column that departed from Tabayin is also reported to have raided the villages of Kanpyar, Masoeyein, and Pyawbwel at the border of Ye U and Tabayin, torched the houses in the villages and set camp at Masoeyein Village.
“The dog column (junta column) from Ye U raided the monastery at Motesi Village this evening (August 24) under heavy rain with guns ablaze. They came out from the Traditional Hospital as early as 1 a.m. this morning in two trucks to Garwi and set up sentry posts near the oxygen office and the farms. Starting around 1:30 a.m., they fired at least seven artillery shells from the hospital toward the villages in the west.
Then they raided Motesi Village in the evening and people from three villages had to flee in the rain as a result. Currently, they have abducted at least four civilians from the monastery. The dog column from Tabayin set fire to Masoeyein Village in Ye U and Kanpyar and Pyawbwel Villages in Tabayin in one morning. We don’t know yet the extent of the damages to the houses,” said Mr. Htoo Khant Zaw (Amaethar).
