MYANMAR – It was announced on September 17 that the 79th United Nations General Assembly Chair Mr. Philemon Yang met with Ambassador Kyaw Moe Tun, the permanent representative for Myanmar to discuss Myanmar affairs.
The former Prime Minister of Cameroon is serving as the chair for the 79th UN General Assembly that started on September 10 and said that he will prioritise sustainable development, human dignity, gender equality, sustainable economic development, peace, safety, trust building, improvements on the UN stage to end conflicts, human rights, international law and strengthening legal frameworks.
The UNGA office announced on X(Twitter) that the UNGA Chair and Ambassador Kyaw Moe Tun discussed the situation in Myanmar, the ongoing situations in the world, international peace and challenges to safety.
Mr. Kyaw Moe Tun has been in attendance at the 79th UNGA currently held at the UN headquarters in New York.
The ambassador has stood on the side of the people since the 2021 coup and has been reporting the crimes and atrocities committed by the junta council to the UN and the international community.
