TANINTHARYI DIVISION – Launglon People’s Defence Force (PDF) announced last Monday (July 29) that more than 100 junta troops were killed and more than 50 were injured during the clashes that took place in Dawei Township in the last six months.
During the six months from January to June 2024, Launglon PDF reportedly conducted 24 operations; 4 in Thayetchaung Township and 20 in Launglon Township.
“As operations in the city, we carried out 5 operations in Dawei and Launglon, 5 operations to cut off the junta supply routes, 2 naval operations, and 12 offensive operations against enemy camps,” Launglon PDF said in the statement.
During the PDF joint operations, 17 junta soldiers were killed in Thayetchaung Township and 16 in Dawei Township. Moreover, 69 junta troops were killed and more than 58 were injured in the operations in Launglon Township.
According to the statement, two PDF members; a private and a company commander of Launglon PDF sacrificed their lives for the country during those six months of operation.
