KACHIN STATE – The Junta Council’s Army and the KIA/KPDF joint forces reportedly fought in the Indawgyi area of Moe Nying Township, starting at around 6:00 a.m. this morning (September).
A member of the Indawgyi People’s Defense Force said that fighting was going on near Mai Naung village between the 111th Light Infantry Battalion of the Junta Council and KIA/KPDF joint forces in the Indawgyi region. “The military council also shot. We also shot. Both sides are shooting.” He said.
At present (10:30 a.m. at the time of the interview), the fighting has temporarily seized, but the military situation is still tense and the fighting may continue, he said.
The military council column is said to be the column that came up from the Indaw-Mawlu region on the night of September 10th.
Mai Naung village, where the battle is taking place, is located next to the main road connecting Ho Pin and Pha Kang.
It is also reported that junta council columns are currently active in the Indawgyi region, where gold mining is banned.
