KARENNI STATE – One Chief Medic has stated that they are in need of more volunteer medics as they are experiencing a shortage of experts.
Currently, Karenni IDPs require volunteers for medical assistance and supplies. “We are in need of medicine. We have only expired paracetamols, and the problem is the lack of medical experts. PDF battalions have medics, but they’re occupied with the aftermath of battles and cannot attend to IDPs,” he explained.
There is an average of 700 IDPs at the IDP Camps with only one medic per camp. Currently, many IDPs are suffering from coughs and illness.
Hence, the Karenni Medic Group invites individuals in good health who can commit at least 40 hours, have passed a matriculation exam, or are CDM staff looking to undergo medic training.
