SOUTHERN SHAN STATE – According to an accountable person of the All Burma Prisoners Congress, the junta council will again allow prison visitors across Myanmar, including Taung Lay Lone prison in Nyaung Shwe township, Southern Shan State.
The junta council will allow prison visitors starting in October, and Taung Lay Lone Prison, Thayarwaddy Prison, Thayet Prison, Oebo Prison, Magway Prison, and Myingyan Prison are included in the list of allowed prison visitors.
The accountable person mentioned that “currently, the prison authorities have been contacting the family members of the prisoners that they (the family members of the prisoners) will be allowed to visit on October 24. We’ve heard that Insein Prison will allow prison visitors in November. It was possible that the junta council would allow the prison visitors across Myanmar.”
A close acquaintance of the prison department, the junta council will again allow the prison visitors and parcel and mail delivery to the prison in Nyaung Shwe Taung Lay Lone prison.
Since the COVID-19 epidemic, prison visitors have not been allowed in the country. The junta council allowed the prison visitors again after three years.
It was known that only if they (the family members) submitted the necessary documents would one family member be allowed to meet.
