SAGAING DIVISION – Local news sources reported that the People’s Defence Forces (PDF) have captured Kangyi Village and Kantharyar Village, two bases of the junta subordinate Pyu Saw Htee militia, in Kalay Township.
Starting February 21, battles broke out between the terrorist junta council and the revolutionary forces and the villages were completely captured on February 23. It is said that the PDF is currently conducting clearance operations in the area.
“Kangyi Village and Kantharyar Village have been captured. I heard they are searching for the Pyu (Saw Htee militia) leaders in hiding. Some Pyu thugs from Kangyi Village were captured but I haven’t heard of any Pyu leader getting arrested,” said a local source.
Kangyi Village was turned into a Pyu Saw Htee base by the village administrator and the head monk in the village who led the Pyu Saw Htee military training after the military coup while the terrorist junta forces made Taungtan missionary church in Kantharyar Village into their base, according to the local people.
