KAREN STATE – A resident said that the Junta’s Council troops fired heavy weapons into Kamai Gone Village in Kakrate Township, Karen State yesterday evening, injuring three people, including a woman.
“Hlaing Wa Artillery Battalion fired. Three people were injured,” the local said. On June 9, at 9:30 p.m., the Junta’s Council troops fired a heavy weapon, and the (42)-year-old woman, Daw Hmue Lone, was seriously injured in her right temple. In addition, two (32-year-old) and (29-year-old) men were injured, the local said.
On the morning of June 7th, the Hlaing Wa Artillery Battalion under the Military Council’s No. 12 Operation Command Headquarters opened fire on the Ywa Tan Shay Village in Kawkareik Township, killing a 12-year-old boy and injuring his mother and 4-year-old sister.
The resident said that without any recent fighting in Kawkareik Township, the military council troops are firing heavy weapons and conducting airstrikes.
The area is located within the Karen National Union (KNU) Brigade (6) area of Dupalaya District. The KNU has announced that the war crimes and human rights violations committed by the junta council troops are causing innocent people to lose their lives every day, and many public properties are being destroyed.
