KAREN STATE – An official of the Cloud Wings Drone Force said that about five junta soldiers were killed in a drone attack on military junta camps at the entrance of Kawkareik Township and at Kaw Nwe Village.
On August 26, at 8:20 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. respectively, the military junta camp stationed in the compound of a petrol station under construction next to the Asia Highway entering Kawkareik Township and the military junta camp in Kaw Nwe Village were attacked with drones dropping 107 mm grenades and 60 mm grenades. It is reported that five military junta soldiers were killed and ten were seriously injured in the drone attack.
“Only between 30 and 50 junta forces were stationed at each camp. The military junta soldiers were killed and injured mostly due to 107mm grenades. The grenades were attached to a drone and dropped. It is known that a villager was hit by the junta soldiers recklessly firing heavy weapons towards the villages, but it is not known which village he was from. It is also not yet known whether there have been damages to civilian homes,” said a person in charge of the Cloud Wings Drone Force.
It was a joint attack by the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA), Cloud Wings Drone Force and Special Operation Group. 81. Junta forces reportedly fired at least 50 rounds of 120mm and 81mm heavy artillery all over the place, injuring a villager.
