KAREN STATE- An official from the Galon Column told the media that a drone attack on the Kyondoe police station and Infantry Batallion 545 in Kawkayeik Township reportedly injured four people, including the Commander’s wife, and damaged a car.
On Saturday morning (August 12), to commemorate the 73rd Karen National Martyr’s Day, a bomb was dropped from drones into Kyondoe Police Station and another one into the Kyondoe-based IB-545. It is reported that the battalion commander’s wife and three soldiers were injured. It is also reported that two civilians were injured when the terrorist army opened fire with heavy weapons.
“A bomb is dropped in the police station and IB-545, respectively. A car was damaged, and three rookie soldiers were injured. It is known that the commander’s wife was hospitalized for a serious head injury. Two civilians from a nearby village were injured when junta troops returned fire with
heavy weapons, but their conditions were said to be stable,” an official from the Galon Column told the media.
The drone attack was reportedly carried out by the Spring UAV Force G3 (Fixed Wings) group from the Galone column, and the people’s defense forces were able to withdraw without being harmed.
