SHAN STATE – Locals said that the Kachin Liberation Army-KIA ambushed the convoy of 18 military vehicles of the Military Council near Man Pain Village, 38 miles, Kutkai Township, Northern Shan State.
The KIA attacked the military council convoy from Lashio on October 11, 3:00 p.m., and exchanged fire for half an hour. A military vehicle was hit, and damaged by a heavy weapon, and 5 soldiers were killed, according to sources on the ground.
“Five army dead bodies were found. There were also injured people. A car was completely impassable. We still don’t know if they carried the dead bodies or not,” said a KIA ground force officer.
After the battle, the military convoy entered the tactical camp, Kutkai Township and left towards Muse Township this morning.
Last October 10th, a battle broke out due to the military council troops firing from the monastery of Kutkauk Village, Theinni Township to the place where the KIA was located with the heavy weapons.
