BAGO DIVISION – It is reported that the People’s Defence Forces (PDF) stormed and destroyed the military council gate stationed at the Mount Kha Chin forest camp on the Sein Kantlant Yoma Crossing Road in Minhla Town, Thayarwaddy District, Western Bago.
In the early morning of September 9, the camp, where more than 30 military council forces forest personnel were stationed, was attacked and destroyed by the joint forces of the People’s Defence Forces.
“When we hit the camp early in the morning, there was an exchange of fire. It was said that the junta forces ran away from the camp because the junta council did not send reinforcements when requested. When we got to the camp, everyone was gone,” he said. It is reported that the military council forces opened the gate at the Kha Chin Taung forest camp and they collected up to 800,000 kyats per car from timber smugglers.
There were ten soldiers of the junta council and 20 forest personnel deployed in that camp, but there used to be about 60 members of the junta council at the camp. It is reported that after the attack and burning of the Kha Chin Taung military camp, the junta Light Infantry Battalion 307 at Kyauktagar Township launched an offensive in a column with a force of more than 100.
The attack was carried out by Company 5, Battalion 3802 of Tharrawaddy District PDF and the battalion commander stated that the number of casualties among the junta council members could not be confirmed yet.
