KAREN STATE- Last Tuesday night (December 19), the military council forces from Sawhta Camp and another camp on the bank of Salween Riverbank deserted and fled as soon as the KNLA joint forces attacked and seized the Point 939 Molokyo one of the major Military Camps, as reported by the KNLA headquarters.
According to the statement, the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and the Karenni Revolutionary Forces have completely taken over the Point-939 Military Camp, which has been firmly stationed on the banks of the Salween River in northern Phapon District for over 30 years, on December 16.
Point 939 Molokyo camp has been attacked by resistance forces since November 24 but has not yet been able to capture. Resistance forces surrounded and sealed off the area and were finally able to capture it during the second offensive on December 16.
Point 939 Molokyo Army near Pehta Town is a military base located in Mutraw District, bordering Karenni State. Below that camp are the Sawhta and Thimutha army camps, and the Thimuha army camp was already seized by the KNLA in March 2021.
On December 16, after the Point 939 Molokyo camp was seized by the resistance forces, junta troops from Sawhta Camp retreated and deserted their camp.
The KNLA headquarters released photo reports of a variety of weapons and ammunition seized during the battle taking over Point 939 Camp, a major (no retreat) military camp.
