BAGO DIVISION – When Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and People’s Defence Force (PDF) alliance attacked the junta council troops in Mone Town, Kyaukgyi Township, Nyaunglebin District, junta forces carried out airstrikes that killed several family members of junta light infantry (LIB) 590, stated Yoma Column 2, a special commando column taking part in the battle.
The video recording released by the special command column depicted a military wife from LIB 590 killed in the junta airstrikes. The woman was seen hugging an infant in the video.
“This baby’s mother has died. She was one of the people but she was also part of the military. You can’t protect your own comrades. You can’t protect the family of your comrades. The mother is dead, killed by (junta) airstrikes. We rescued this (baby),” a PDF soldier spoke to the camera in the video.
